Tavod River
Top of Page The Tavod River flows through the Cavnod and serves as a conduit for Hesbrid's Spirit into the Cavnod (Inniscren Map). Because of this "pass through" aspect of the Tavod River (with respect to the Cavnod), it is divided into two segments: the first segment being that which flows into Inniscren from the Fourth Sentinel Island, and the segment that flows out of the Cavnod and back into the Biola Sea at the Fifth Sentinel Island. On Earth, rivers follow the path of least resistence as they are pulled down by the Earth's gravity, seeking the lowest point in the terrain. In Addewid though, there is no gravitational force per se, and it is not the Laws of Physics which dictate the behavior of the domain, but rather the Laws of Spirit. In the context of Addewin Spiritual Law, as defined by the Henin in their Councils, the Waters of Life, which flow through all of the rivers in Addewid and Annwn (as well as in the Biola Sea), are drawn to the places where the greatest need for the Essence of Life is found, or where the Morhu or Avanc direct the flow. (see Essay: Water of Life). In the case of the rivers on Inniscren, the Avanc create channels from Duliviad Stones, directing the waters of the Tavod River up the steep river bed to the edge of the Cavnod, where the waters fall precipitously down the Duquel Falls, from high up on a massive cliff, into the depths of the Cavnod. The acceleration experienced by the waters during the descent enliven the waters with Hesbrid's Spirit as they come in contact with the roots of Hoedl trees growing at the top of the cliff. It is with this supercharging of life force that the waters enter the Cavnod and bring the always needed life force into the domain of Earth and all other planets hosting life forms. If, for some reason, a Human Spirit with an Addewin body is carried over the edge of Duquel Falls, the Tunned trees, which grow out of the stones behind the falls, will strip the Spirit of its Addewin Body, leaving the Spirit to slip into the Cavnod once again where it will be re-born into a new new Earth body. This Spirit will once again have to go through the entire Cavnod Life Cycle from Death. This spirit will then re-enter Addewid at the time of that next Death.
