When I see the sun sparkling on the restless surface of a
lake
I see diversity of perspectives that don't line up
into convenient patterns for any of us to rest within. I see
brilliance
scattered in all directions where each and
every one of us can take ahold of that which places
fire
within us.

Fire over
Sea/Lake recalls
the classic symbol of the fiery fertilizing god, as
lightning descending like a lover into the female Abyss,
which devours him and extinguishes his
spirit.

"Kui" means to go against, to be incompatible with; diversity.
The flame of a
Fire flares upward,
while the water in the
Lake flows downward;
they diverge.
Lake, symbolizing
joy, joyfully clings to
Fire,
Brightness.
In the course of diversifying there is still similarity -
this is the wisdom of
I Ching.
Diversity.
Fire moves up;
Lake moves down.
Two daughters live together;
Their minds do not move in the same direction.
The joyous
clings to the
brilliant.
The yielding advances and moves upward.
It attains the central place and responds to the firm.
This is why there is good fortune in little things.
The sky and earth diversify,
But together they bring forth life
and support it.
Female and male diversity,
But their passion unfolds through generations.
All beings diversify,
But they all coexist and evolve together.
The superior ones seek common ground where it is necessary,
but preserves their own uniqueness in the process.
Diversity!

Changing (Old) Yao
Resolving Multiple Old Yao

Yao 6
Resulting Kua
Initial Kua
|
Feeling isolated and alone,
Different,
It seems a demonic, mud-covered pig appears,
You first draw a bow,
Then set it aside, realizing
That it was a friend, not a foe.
Go forward.
Welcome the rain
That washes away all fear.
There is good fortune.
|
Yao 5
Resulting Kua
Initial Kua
|
Regret disappears.
Relatives respond warmly,
As if biting soft meat.
With such support,
How can one fail?
|
Yao 4
Resulting Kua
Initial Kua
|
You feel alone against the mainstream,
But you meet someone inspiring
Who joins forces with you.
There will be adversity,
But you will not fail.
|
Yao 3
Resulting Kua
Initial Kua
|
The oxen pulling your cart are pushed back,
And you are tattooed and injured.
There is no beginning,
But there is a good end.
|
Yao 2
Resulting Kua
Initial Kua
|
You will meet a superior in a back alley,
But there will be no failure.
|
Yao 1
Resulting Kua
Initial Kua

Regret disappears.
You lose a horse
But you do not panic and chase after it.
It will return on its own.
You encounter evil people,
But you do not fail to speak with them.
