Volume IV of Fractured Paradise introduces the reader to the Blessed Three: Cynthia Green, Rita Begay and Janet Matthews. These three women meet at an Open Microphone being held every Monday night at the Caradog Welsh Pub in downtown Minneapolis. They are all from other places than either Minneapolis or Minnesota at large. All three have had difficulty throughout their lives with the patriarchal culture of the United States and had become committed to expressing their contempt for men, racial prejudice and the subjugation of women in their poetry, which they read regularly at the Caradog Welsh Pub. |
